15 hours funded childcare and early learning for Two-Year-Olds

Are you getting of any of the following benefits?

-Income Support
-income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
-Universal Credit, and your household income is £15,400 a year or less after tax, not including benefit payments
-Child Tax Credit, Working Tax Credit (or both), and your household income is £16,190 a year or less before tax
-the Working Tax Credit 4-week run on (the payment you get when you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)
-income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
-the guaranteed element of Pension Credit

Yes to any of those? Then apply online now. Your child must be at least 1 year and 9 months old.
  • Create an account if you do not already have one.
  • You will need to have your National Insurance (NI) number or National Asylum Seeker Service (NASS) number
  • Complete all parts, including your address
  • Do not add any documents. Tick 'Please confirm that you wish to proceed without attaching any documents’ when prompted.

Not getting any of the above benefits? You may still qualify if you meet one of the following.

Your child has a special educational need or a disability and has:
-an Education, Health and Care plan (EHCP)
-or receives Disability Living Allowance (DLA).

Your child is adopted or in foster care and:
-is looked after by the local authority
-has left care under a special guardianship order
-has a child arrangement order
-has an adoption order

You are a non-UK citizen who cannot claim benefits

You may still get free/funded childcare for your 2-year-old, if your immigration status says you have ‘no recourse to public funds’, and you have:
-a household income of no more than £26,500 for families with one child
-a household income of no more than £30,600 for families with two or more children
-no more than £16,000 in savings or investments.

If you believe you meet this criteria, email the Family Information Service at feeequeries@leeds.gov.uk, asking for a 2YO application form for families with no recourse to public funds. We will email this to you with further information.
